Work begins to fit out community centre in new Wellingborough estate
Glenvale Park, a new build estate in Wellingborough, will soon have its own community centre as works have begun to fit out the interior of the currently-vacant building.
The Glenvale Park community centre, next to Toad Hall nursery, is currently undergoing works to be brought into public use, with plans for the space including a large community space, kitchenette, plant room, bin store and other amenities to allow for the space to become ‘a welcoming, inclusive and vibrant hub.’
A spokesman for Glenvale Park Residents’ Association said: “As residents of Glenvale Park, we are delighted to see the community centre progressing to the internal fit-out stage, with completion now anticipated in the first quarter of 2027.
“The community centre represents an important milestone in the development of Glenvale Park.

“It will provide a much-needed focal point for our growing community, creating opportunities for residents of all ages to meet, participate in activities, build friendships and strengthen the sense of community across the development.”
The community centre is the latest development in the construction of the new Wellingborough estate which now includes a primary school, care home, nursery and a local centre, which consists of multiple food outlets, a Co-op and a gym, all as phase one of the project.
A residents’ association spokesman added: “Residents have been looking forward to having a dedicated community space, and it is encouraging to see this becoming a reality.
“We look forward to learning more about how the centre will operate, the facilities and activities it will offer, and how residents can plan an active role in shaping its future.
“Ultimately, we hope the community centre will become a welcoming, inclusive and vibrant hub at the heart of Glenvale Park, bringing people together for many years to come.”
