New community steering group launches to drive Desborough neighbourhood plan
Desborough residents are invited to help shape the future of their local area as the newly formed Desborough Neighbourhood Plan Community Steering Group (CSG) hosts its official launch event.
Established as a non-political group working alongside Desborough Town Council, the CSG holds full delegated authority to develop and deliver the draft Desborough Neighbourhood Plan to the council for review and submission.
The CSG aims to help ensure that future planning policies accurately reflect the views and priorities of residents, businesses and stakeholders.
The launch event offers local community members the opportunity to learn about the neighbourhood planning process, share their vision for the town and find out how to get involved.

The CSG is actively seeking local residents with a range of skills and backgrounds to join the group or assist with community engagement initiatives – no previous experience is required but a motivation to help shape the future of the town is important.
Ben Murphy-Ryan, chairman of the Desborough Developments Working Party, said: "The neighbourhood plan is a vital framework for our town's future development and has been delayed over many years.
"We encourage all residents to come along, express their views and help us build a plan that truly represents Desborough.
"But we need everyone’s help to do this."
The launch event is at 2pm on Saturday, September 19 at Desborough Heritage Centre in Station Road.
Admission is free with all members of the public welcome and refreshments will be provided.
Members of the public who are unable to attend the launch event can follow progress or submit inquiries via the DDWP’s Facebook page or by emailing [email protected].
