Anglian Water gives update on water supply disruption affecting Rothwell, Desborough, Thrapston and surrounding villages
Residents in Rothwell, Desborough and Thrapston, as well as surrounding villages, may have been experiencing low or no water pressure while Anglian Water repair burst water mains in the area.
Anglian Water has now confirmed that two water mains were fixed overnight and the water pressure has been restored, though residents may experience pressure fluctuations or discolouration while the service returns to normal.
An update from Anglian Water reads: “We’re pleased to say that the remaining two bursts were successfully repaired by our teams overnight. The pressure in the network was then carefully brought back up to normal levels and everything is now operating as we’d expect.
“Because of the recent issues in this area, we’ll be keeping a close eye on the pressure across the network to make sure everything continues to work as it should.

“We’re sorry again this has happened again and caused disruption in this area. We’d like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while we worked to get things back to normal.”
Reports indicated homes in the postcodes NN14 1, NN6 9, LE16 8, NN14 6, NN14 2 and NN6 6 were affected, and though the now-restored water supply may look cloudy or discoloured, Anglian Water says this is due to either air in the water or iron sediment that has been stirred up, and is completely normal and will clear after running the tap for a short while.
Anglian Water says there were only a few properties left completely without water, and says it will look at the data from across its network to see who was affected and for how long.
The affected residents will be credited with £50 within 20 working days of the issue to their accounts.
Those who had no water at all for more than 12 hours and do not receive a credit within 20 days are asked to call on 0345 7145145.
