Kettering town centre unites for ‘epic’ Western themed pub crawl to boost local nightlife

Kettering town centre is set to come alive on Saturday, September 19, as local venues join forces for a major Western themed pub crawl designed to showcase the vibrant nightlife and hospitality scene across the town.

Starting from 2pm and running late into the night, the initiative was sparked by local pub owners and town councillors.

Their shared vision is to foster collaboration among town centre businesses, driving footfall and offering residents and visitors a lively, memorable night out.

Participants will kick off their journey at Kino Lounge, where they can pick up an official event stamp card featuring a map of must-visit venues.

Kettering town councillor Allanah Colson said: “With so many unique venues within the town centre, Kettering is a natural home for a pub crawl.

“We want to rewrite the narrative that our nightlife has lost its spark.

“Building on the brilliant spirit of Kettfest and Pride, this event is all about celebrating our local and independent scene.

“We want residents and visitors alike to come out, explore, and rediscover exactly why Kettering’s nightlife is worth shouting about.”

Chris, manager of The Peacock and chairman of the local Pub Watch, said: “We’re really excited to show off our revamp as we’ve put a lot of investment into the venue over the last few years.

“We’ve also got an incredible singer at 3pm, live music from 9pm from The Sound Haus band, and some cracking western tracks for in between – this is going to be such a memorable end to the summer.”

A spokesman for The Alexandra Arms said: “Howdy! We’re mighty excited to welcome you all to the Alexandra Arms for the pub crawl.

“Get your cowboy hats ready, saddle up, and join us for a rootin’ tootin’ dance with DJ Paul Gilhooly 5pm to 11pm, and a proper pint of real ale.

“See if you can complete our challenge and earn a stamp.”

Kino Lounge is also looking forward to the event, with a spokesman saying: “The whole team can’t wait to be part of the Kettering pub crawl.

“We’ll be assessing the best dressed competition so if fancy dress is your thing, bring your A-game.

“You’ll have a chance to win a £50 voucher so the game is really on.

“At Kino we are all about community and love to be included in events like these that bring everyone from Kettering together.”

For those that wish to attend, simply turn up on the day and collect your stamp card from the Kino Lounge.
