Wellingborough church to host free-entry Christmas market this weekend

A Christmas market will be held at the Compass Church in Wellingborough this weekend, giving people the opportunity to finalise their festive shopping while supporting local crafters and businesses.

From 10am until 3pm on Saturday, December 20, the free-entry Christmas market will provide the opportunity to shop for a range of seasonal gifts, including clothes and handbags, jewellery, children's books, toys, sweets, stocking fillers and more.

Food stalls with churros, jacket potatoes, nachos and pick 'n' mix sweets will also be on offer at the church in Meadow Close.

A spokesman said: “Come and experience the magic of Christmas at our festive market. The highlight of the day is our 'live animal nativity' – meet and pet the animals up close and enjoy this unique, hands-on experience for all the family. Plus, there will be face painting for the kids.

A car park and on-street parking is available throughout.

Then, on Sunday December 21, the church will be hosting a Christmas concert of ‘classic carols and seasonal songs’ suitable for the whole family, with festive hot drinks and snacks for sale, and an opportunity to meet real-life reindeer.

The Christmas concert on Sunday begins at 6.30pm and ends at 8pm.
