Popular Kettering Christmas tree festival returns to St Andrew’s Church this weekend

Kettering’s popular Christmas tree festival will return to St Andrew’s Church this weekend.

The mayor of Kettering Cllr Ben Jameson is hosting the return of the colourful event where community groups, organisations and charities have the chance to decorate a tree which will be on display throughout December.

Members of the public will be able to vote for their favourite entrant and the winning tree will be awarded a thank you prize of £100 from the mayor.

The 20 six-foot trees are being provided by Ise Garden Centre and will be in the church from Saturday (December 13) across the festive period for people to come and see.

Cllr Jameson said: “We’re thrilled to bring back the Christmas Tree Festival to St Andrew’s Church. This event is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the creativity and generosity that make Kettering so special. Each tree tells a story about the people and organisations behind it, and I’m excited to see the designs that will brighten the church this year.

“The festival isn’t just about decorations – it’s about connection and supporting local groups who do so much for our town. I encourage everyone to come along, vote for their favourite tree and soak up the festive atmosphere."

Rev Tom Houston, from St Andrew’s Church, said: “We’re delighted to open our doors and welcome the community into St Andrew’s to share in this celebration. Whether you’re coming to admire the decorations, cast your vote, or simply enjoy a moment of peace during the busy season, we hope you’ll feel the warmth and welcome that Christmas brings."

There will be a grand opening of the festival with the mayor at 10am, on Saturday and open to the public until 1pm and then on Saturday, December 20, 10am to 1pm; Tuesday, December, 23 from 7pm to 9pm and Saturday, December, 27 from 10am to 1pm.
