Help shape Central Kettering Neighbourhood Plan by having your say in consultation
Residents are being invited to have their say and help shape the Central Kettering Neighbourhood Plan by joining in a consultation from North Northamptonshire Council (NNC).
The public consultation will run for six weeks, and NNC is inviting ‘formal representations’ on the draft plan.
Once complete, the plan will be a key document in the determination of planning applications for the town.
Cllr Jan O’Hara, the council’s executive member for planning and economic growth, said: “Neighbourhood plans play a huge part in shaping communities across the local area. But any plan needs the input of residents - local knowledge and a keen understanding of an area is vital.

“With this in mind, I would encourage you to get involved and have your say to help shape the Central Kettering Neighbourhood Plan.”
The plan has been developed by Kettering Town Council on behalf of stakeholders and residents using feedback from public sessions.
It also provides local detail to support wider development policies contained in the North Northants Joint Core Strategy, the Kettering Site Specific Part 2 Local Plan and the Kettering Town Centre Area Action Plan.
Once the consultation has closed, the plan will go for examination before a referendum is held to seek its adoption.
Cllr Martin Griffiths, leader of the NNC, added: “When our corporate plan was unanimously approved, we made a commitment to work with local communities to enable them to shape need at a local level through Neighbourhood Plans. This work will help shape the centre of Kettering for years to come, ensuring that residents have the facilities they need in the future.”
The consultation will run until 11.59pm on Wednesday, December 2, 2026 and is now available online. Anyone who requires the document in an alternative format can email [email protected].
