Epic retelling of Ramayana from visual artists behind The Odyssey and Dune arrives at Vue Northampton for Diwali
An epic retelling of the ancient Indian epic Ramayana: Rise of a Legend, brought to life by the visual effects team behind summer hit The Odyssey, is arriving on the big screen at Vue Northampton over Diwali weekend (6-8 November).

Ramayana: Rise of a Legend is brought to life by Namit Malhotra’s Academy Award-winning visual effects company DNEG, which has worked on films including The Odyssey, Dune, Interstellar and Inception. It is directed by Nitesh Tiwari, whose film Dangal is among the highest-grossing Indian films of all time.
The film, which is also available to watch dubbed in English, stars Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi, and follows the timeless tale of Rama, a prince bound by sacrifice; Ravana, an immortal king driven by vengeance; and the prophecy that binds their fates together.
Scott Norgate, General Manager at Vue Northampton, said: “We’re thrilled to be celebrating the Festival of Lights with a fantastic selection of South Asian films this November, offering something for everyone to enjoy on the big screen.
“We’re particularly excited to welcome Ramayana: Rise of a Legend, the first instalment of Namit Malhotra’s ambitious two-part retelling of one of the world's most celebrated epics.”
