Corby Christmas full-scale lights switch-on event and market returns to town centre
Corby’s Christmas lights switch-on will return to the town centre shopping area for the first time in 20 years for a full-scale event.
The joint event hosted by Willow Place & Corby Town Shopping and Corby Town Council will see a switch-on and festive market in Queen’s Square on Friday, November 27 from 3pm to 7pm.
As well as the tree lights switch-on at 6pm, there will be a Santa’s grotto, family workshop and carolling.
Crafters and gift vendors who would like to be part of the market are being asked to apply for a stall.
A Corby Town Council spokesman said: “Corby Town Council, in proud partnership with Willow Place & Corby Town Shopping are inviting traders to be part of this event in the town centre.”
The last Christmas lights switch-on featuring celebrities is believed to be in 2006 when Coronation Street actor Andrew Whyment, who plays Kirk Sutherland, did the honours, helped by a 10-year-old Zak Crawford.
