Cransley Hospice Trust invites community to gather together at The Tree of Lights

“It’s such a beautiful service, and it raises money that enables more people and their families to receive the care that we did”

Cransley Hospice Trust’s much-loved Tree of Lights service returns to Kettering on Sunday 6th December 2026 at 6.30pm, bringing the local community together to remember those that hold a very special place in our hearts.

Held outside the Cransley Hospice Trust Fundraising Office at St Mary’s Hospital, the annual service offers a special opportunity to pause, reflect and find comfort in the company of others during what can be a particularly difficult time of year.

With heartfelt readings, uplifting performances from local musicians and choirs, and the ceremonial lighting of the Tree of Lights, the service celebrates the enduring love and memories that remain long after someone has gone.

For Kyla Sanders, the service holds a deeply personal meaning. Last year, she attended Tree of Lights while her mum, Tracey, was receiving care at Cransley Hospice. Tracey sadly passed away shortly afterwards.

Kyla said: “I’ll be attending Tree of Lights every year now, in Mum’s memory. It’s such a beautiful service, and it raises money that enables more people and their families to receive the care that we did. I honestly don’t think I would have made it through the experience without the support from Cransley.”

Kyla’s experience reflects the difference Cransley Hospice makes to patients and the people closest to them, providing compassionate care and support when families need it most.

The Tree of Lights campaign gives people the opportunity to honour someone special while helping ensure other local families can receive the same vital care and support. Every donation helps Cransley Hospice Trust continue its work to make ‘every moment matter’ for patients and their families across North Northamptonshire.

To dedicate a light in memory of someone you love, share a special memory or photograph, and make a donation, visit cransleyhospicetrust.dedicationpage.org/treeoflights2026. Alternatively, supporters can call the fundraising team on 03000 274040 to leave their dedication over the phone.

The charity has once again collaborated with local potter Louise Crookenden-Johnson, who has created a beautiful handcrafted turtle dove keepsake. Available for £6, alongside a donation to the Tree of Lights campaign, the dove offers another meaningful way to remember someone special.

Cransley Hospice Trust is hugely grateful to the local community for its continued generosity and they hope to see as many supporters as possible join them for what is always one of the most poignant and heartfelt events of the year.

Everyone is warmly invited to join the Tree of Lights service on Sunday 6th December at 6.30pm to come together in grief, in love and in hope.
