Award-winning Wellingborough gospel choir to host charity concert promising an ‘energetic and diverse evening of entertainment’

Wellingborough Community Gospel Choir will hold a special concert in November, hosted by The Rotary Club of Wellingborough Hatton and supporting local charities and initiatives.

The choir has recently returned from performing at the world-famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and on November 21 will deliver a performance consisting of an ‘eclectic mix of genres’ to the United Reformed Church in Wellingborough for a one-night-only performance.

Paddy Waugh, president of Hatton Rotary Club, said: “We are incredibly excited to host this amazingly talented choir fresh back from their highly successful trip to the Fringe. With such a talented group of singers, we are guaranteed an amazing night of entertainment while supporting our vital local charities.

“There are so few events that offer the whole community the chance to come together and have a lot of fun,” he added.

“Just don’t expect to just sit and watch – it’s literally impossible not to join in, and I guarantee that it won’t be long before you’ll be singing and clapping along with everyone else!

“So come along, have fun and we can all raise as much money for our supported charities as possible.”

On the night the choir will be blending traditional gospel classics with hit anthems from iconic artists such as U2, the Bee Gees, The Beatles and Coldplay. There will also be a prize raffle.

Organisers say proceeds from the evening will help benefit vital local causes, including Dementia Sings Out and other Rotary-supported initiatives.

“Our mission is simple: Have fun, join in and make a difference. So, if you’d like to find out more about us, please feel free to chat with any of our members here, or reach out to our secretary at [email protected].”

Tickets to the concert cost £15 per person, and include a complimentary drink and nibbles.
