With an ethos built around traditional Celtic roots, Manran combine fiery tunes played on instruments including the fiddle, accordion, flute, uillean and highland bagpipes which combine with a powerful rhythm section awash with elements of funk, jazz and rock.

The band’s 2011 debut single Latha Math heralded a meteoric rise to the top of the Scottish music world that quickly saw them playing many of the most prestigious festivals in Europe despite having only been in existence a few short months.

From there, a multi-award-winning debut album followed as the band set about living up to the hype while establishing their characteristic sound.

They released their second LP in 2013 and their latest single Trod is out now.

Mànran comprise Ewen Henderson, Gary Innes, Craig Irving, Ryan Murphy, Ross Saunders and Mark Scobbie on drums.

They play on Friday, May 20. Doors open at 8pm, tickets cost £14.
