Ailsa’s Aim crowned Swansgate Community Champion for Q3, following Wellingborough community vote
Swansgate Shopping Centre is proud to announce that local charity Ailsa’s Aim has been named the Q3 Swansgate Community Champion, following an overwhelming show of support and votes from the Wellingborough public.

The Swansgate Community Champion initiative recognises and celebrates individuals, groups, and charitable organisations that make an exceptional difference to the local community. Ailsa’s Aim was nominated by residents and went on to win the public vote in recognition of its dedicated work supporting individuals and families facing life-altering challenges.
Founded after personal experience with a cancer diagnosis during pregnancy, Ailsa’s Aim provides vital, practical support to cancer patients and families with babies in neonatal care. The charity delivers free care packs filled with everyday personal care essentials, as well as providing RADAR disability facility keys, wellbeing activities, and restful respite breaks to help alleviate pressure during challenging medical journeys.
Sara, Founder of Ailsa’s Aim, expressed her gratitude upon receiving the award: “We’re absolutely delighted to have been chosen, and so grateful to everyone who nominated and voted for Ailsa’s Aim. As a small charity, donations like this make a real difference, helping us provide essential items and a little comfort to cancer patients and families with babies in neonatal care. Knowing our community is behind us means so much.”
The donation and recognition from the Community Champion scheme will directly support Ailsa’s Aim in assembling and distributing more care packs to hospitals and families across the region.
Fiona Stevens, Marketing and Community Coordinator at Swansgate Shopping Centre, commented, “The Swansgate Community Champion scheme is all about highlighting the incredible people and grassroots organisations that bring real warmth and support to Wellingborough. Ailsa’s Aim is an extraordinary charity born out of personal resilience, and the sheer volume of nominations and votes they received reflects how deeply their compassionate work resonates with local residents. We are absolutely delighted to present them with the Q3 award and to support their ongoing mission to bring comfort to families across our community.”
Swansgate Shopping Centre is now calling on the public to submit their nominations for the next round of the Community Champion Award. Whether it is a local charity, a grassroots sports club, a dedicated volunteer, or a community group that needs a helping hand, Swansgate wants to hear about them.
The winner of the next award will also receive a £200 donation to support their cause. To be eligible, nominees must be based in the local community and demonstrate a commitment to making Wellingborough a better place to live and work.
