TRAFFIC: Road closures near Rushden Lakes site next week
Drivers are being warned about a series of full road closures taking place near the Rushden Lakes site next week.
As well as the narrow lanes with a 50mph speed restriction on the A45 at Rushden Lakes which have been in place for several months, there will be a number of full closures of the A45 from Monday for installation of the new pedestrian and cyclist overbridge.
Interserve has included details of the closures in its latest traffic management bulletin about the ongoing road improvements.
There will be a full closure of the A45 eastbound between 8pm and 6am the next day on Monday (June 12), Tuesday (June 13) and Wednesday (June 14).
During the closures, traffic will be diverted via the A509, A510 and A6.
There will also be a full closure of the A5001 Crowne Way on the same days from 8pm to 6am.
On Thursday (June 15) and Friday (June 16), there will be a full closure of the A45 westbound from 8pm until 6am.
Traffic will be diverted via the A6, A510 and A509.
The A5001 Crowne Way will also be closed during these times, as well as the B645 Northampton Road.
On Saturday (June 17), there will be a full closure of the A45 both eastbound and westbound from 8pm until 9am the next day.
There will also be full closures of the A5001 Crowne Way and B645 Northampton Road during the same period.
On Sunday (June 18), the traffic restrictions will return to the 24-hour narrow lanes with a 50mph speed restriction on the eastbound and westbound carriageways.
The work, which has been ongoing for several months, is to improve and increase capacity on the roads surrounding the £140 million leisure and retail scheme.
The first phase of Rushden Lakes is due to open this summer.
