The boss at The Talbot in Oundle has picked up an accolade for her great work at the coaching inn.
Dorota Metselaar, a familiar friendly face at The Talbot in Oundle and her enthusiastic team have two big reasons to celebrate.
Dorota has been named General Manager of The Year by the multi award winning Coaching Inn Group, which runs forty-two other hotels and inns in market towns across the country and is the current holder of the Which Best Large Hotel Group of the Year title.
The renowned 17th-century thirty-four-bedroom inn also picked up the group’s accolade for accommodation excellence at a black- tie celebration at The Engine House venue in Lincoln.

“I simply couldn’t believe it when my name was announced as GM of the Year and I was called to the stage,” said Dorota who joined the hotel as a receptionist twelve years ago and worked her way up to becoming GM three years ago.
“But I could never have won this coveted award without all the support I have received from my entire team many of whom have worked with me for many years and share and enthusiastic and can do, perspective,” said Dorota.
“I love our shared camaraderie and the great relationships we have with all our local customers which put us at the very heart of the community in which we serve, and of course welcoming our guests from far and wide,” she added.
Dorota, a mother of two studied for a tourism degree at the University of the West of England and went straight into hospitality by becoming a receptionist at a leading Bristol hotel and from there she has never looked back.

Coaching Inn Group Managing Director Adam Charity said Dorota was a most worthy winner of this top award.
