Meet the animals at Northamptonshire rescue and rehoming charity open day this weekend

A charity which rescues and rehomes hundreds of animals every year is holding its last open day of 2026 this weekend.

Animals In Need is inviting people to visit them at their Pine Tree Farm base in Little Irchester, near Wellingborough on Sunday (September 13).

The open day is taking place from 11am to 3pm.

Sanctuary manager Annie Marriott said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming you to Pine Tree Farm for our final open day of the year.

"It’s set to be a lovely day out for all the family, with plenty to see, do, eat and enjoy.

"Come along and say hello to some of our beautiful rescued animals, enjoy some delicious food and browse our fantastic selection of stalls.”

For the little ones, there will be face painting with Aims from Giggle and Glow Artistry, bouncy castle, guess how many sweets are in the jar, colouring competition, guess the name of the giant bear and hook-a-duck.

There will also be a barbecue, sweet treats from Shelly’s Free From Kitchen and Shelly Bakes, as well as Jeavons Sweets.

There will be a raffle, tombola, bottle tombola and guess the weight of the cake, as well as merchandise and bric-a-brac.

Annie is delighted to have some wonderful stalls joining them too, including:

- Camp Beagle

- SquirrelScribbles

- Keyrings by Betty

- Lumo Jewellery

- Ace Comfort Creations

- Lush MK

Annie added: “It promises to be a brilliant day, and as always, every bit of support helps us continue caring for the animals who need us most.

"We can’t wait to see you there.”
