'Disappointing news' as M&S cafe closes at Wellingborough Foodhall

M&S has confirmed that the cafe at its Wellingborough Foodhall has closed and will be ‘re-purposed’ to offer more products for customers.

The cafe at the M&S Foodhall on the Castlefields Retail Park in London Road closed its doors for the final time on Saturday (February 21).

One customer writing on Facebook said: “Really disappointed that M&S are closing their cafe in Wellingborough.

"It’s always busy, the staff are lovely and many older people go there to meet their friends for a coffee after doing their weekly shop.”

Another customer said they were ‘very unhappy’ about the decision and ‘it would be missed’.

Craig Burton, regional manager at M&S, said: “We know many of our customers want to be able to shop a wider range of M&S Food.

"That’s why after reviewing our Wellingborough store, we are re-purposing the café space to offer even more delicious products, including more grocery essentials.

"We understand this will be disappointing news for some of our customers, however our team will continue working hard to serve them in-store.”
