Man has repaired relationship with his brother after repeatedly punching him in attack in Corby, court hears
A former Kettering man has turned around his life and made up with his brother after an argument turned violent.
Northampton Crown Court heard how Darrell Bland targeted multiple blows at his brother after an argument flared into violence in Corby in July last year.
The 32-year-old argued with his brother at his home, and began hitting him as well as punching the wall.
But the court heard that Bland and his brother had now reconciled after the former moved away and settled down.

Bland, formerly of Avondale Mews in Kettering, ‘wasn’t able to contain himself’ during the attack, His Honour Judge William Harbage said.
"You punched the wall and him repeatedly,” added Judge Harbage.
But he also heard how, since the incident, Bland had turned around his life and was remorseful for what had happened.
"You have made up with your brother. You’re working and in a new relationship. There’s been no trouble since July last year,” the judge said.
"I’m told you paid for the damage.”
Giving him a 12 month conditional discharge for the assault, he told him Bland, now of Goring, Worthing, he must keep out of trouble for the next year. He fined him £150 for criminal damage and ordered him to pay a £150 surcharge.
A charge of intentional strangulation on a female victim was dropped.
The court heard how he was previously jailed in 2023 for a racially aggravated assault in Kettering. During that incident he headbutted his neighbour and told him to ‘go back to his own country’.
