Rosie Wrighting MP column: Remembrance in Kettering, Rothwell, Desborough, Burton and the villages

This November, communities across Kettering, Rothwell, Desborough, Burton and the villages will come together to remember those who have served our country, those currently serving, their families and all those who lost their lives in conflict.

On Remembrance Sunday and on Armistice Day, services will be held at churches and war memorials across our constituency. These moments give us the chance to honour the people from our towns and villages who have served and give families and communities the chance to remember the names on our war memorials.

Remembrance is also about the people who will themselves be serving and the veterans who live in our communities. Many people across Northamptonshire have served in the Armed Forces or have a parent, child or grandparent who has. I am grateful to every one of them for their service and to their families and friends for the sacrifices they have made too.

I want to thank the Royal British Legion and the many volunteers who organise services, sell poppies and support veterans and their families throughout the year. Their work makes sure the sacrifices of the past are not forgotten and that veterans get the help they need today. If you can, please support the Poppy Appeal in the coming days and weeks.

I hope you will be able to attend one of the services happening across our constituency on Remembrance Sunday, and I look forward to seeing you there. We will remember them.
