The event, which forms part of the charity’s 2026 Psoriasis Awareness Week celebrations,

will take place at 11am on Friday 30 October 2026. After a short welcome at the Psoriasis UK head office in Queensbridge, the group will set off on a relaxed, informal walk nearby. Participants must be able to walk approximately 2km at a slow pace over one hour or use a wheelchair and attend with someone able to help with hills if necessary.

Psoriasis UK is partnering with Space2Talk, a Northampton-based wellbeing charity, to deliver the ‘Walk and Talk’ pilot.

Amy Ball, Communications and Engagement Lead for Psoriasis UK, said: "We’re excited to launch ‘Walk and Talk’ as a way for members of the psoriasis community to connect. This follows the success of the initial study conducted by the team at Royal Free Hospital in London, which demonstrated benefits for the mental and physical wellbeing of patients with psoriasis.

Our launch event in Northampton is perfectly timed for our 2026 Psoriasis Awareness Week, where we will focus on ‘age’ and explore the ways psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis can affect people throughout their lives. Events like this will go a long way to prove that these conditions do not have to stand in the way of living a happy, active life.”

Psoriasis Awareness Week 2026 activities will also include a webinar, ‘Psoriasis Through Life: What Do We Know Now?’ hosted by Psoriasis UK and St Johns DermAcademy on Wednesday 4 November. Featuring talks from leading UK dermatology experts, the event will explore how psoriasis can affect people at different stages of life and continue the week’s focus on ‘age’.

The Northampton pilot will help inform Psoriasis UK’s planned expansion of the initiative across the Midlands, and eventually the wider UK.
