New-look venue at Radlands Plaza is already welcoming visitors during the school half-term holidays
Northampton’s skateboarding community has a new reason to celebrate with the opening of Push Society, a dedicated skate shop, café and repair workshop at Radlands Plaza on Bedford Road.

Led by Pete Harvey, the new venture brings together specialist skate retail, refreshments and practical repair facilities at one of the town’s best-known destinations for wheeled sports.
The newly fitted-out premises are now open and already attracting visitors during the school half-term holidays, offering riders and families a place to shop, relax and meet up alongside the skate park.

Inside, the modern shop features walls displaying colourful skateboards and longboards, alongside equipment, accessories and clothing for riders of different ages and abilities. A contemporary café counter and food preparation area provide refreshments, while a dedicated workshop area offers facilities for repairs.
The addition of the repair workshop is an important part of the offering, giving riders a place to have their equipment attended to and helping them get back out on the ramps. Keeping equipment in good working order is essential for both performance and safety.
The combination of shop, café and workshop aims to make Push Society more than a conventional retail outlet. It is designed to serve the needs of the local riding community while providing a welcoming environment for newcomers, experienced riders and families alike.
For youngsters taking up skateboarding for the first time, a specialist shop can also be a valuable resource for choosing suitable equipment and getting advice before heading out to practise.

The café adds another dimension to the venue, providing somewhere for parents, spectators and riders to grab refreshments and take a break while remaining close to the action.
With school holidays bringing more opportunities for young people to get outdoors, Push Society is already welcoming visitors during half term, helping to bring fresh activity to the Radlands Plaza site.
The opening also highlights the role independent businesses can play in supporting local sporting communities, offering not just products and services but places where people can develop skills, share interests and socialise.
By bringing retail, repairs and refreshments together under one roof, Pete Harvey and the Push Society team hope to establish a hub for Northampton’s skateboarding and wheeled-sports community.
Pete Harvey said: “We wanted to create more than just a skate shop. Push Society is about bringing the community together and giving riders of all ages and abilities somewhere they can feel welcome.
“Having the shop, café and repair workshop together means people can get the equipment they need, have their boards looked after and enjoy a drink or something to eat while catching up with friends.
“We’re already welcoming people through the doors during half term, which is fantastic to see. We want Push Society to become a real hub for Northampton’s skateboarding and wheeled-sports community, supporting board riders and encouraging more people to give it a go.”
Push Society is now open at Radlands Plaza, Bedford Road, Northampton.
