Two-time PREM winner Graham posts emotional Saints farewell message

Sam Graham has sent a heartfelt and emotional farewell message to everyone at Saints.

Ahead of his summer move to Newcastle Red Bulls, Graham took to Instagram on Saturday to sum up his stay at cinch Stadium at Franklin's Gardens.

The No.8 made the move to Saints from Champ Rugby side Doncaster Knights in 2022 and went on to make 74 appearances, scoring 10 tries.

He claimed two Gallagher PREM titles during a hugely successful stay in Northampton.

The 29-year-old also had a huge obstacle to overcome, having suffered a serious knee injury in a game against Leicester Tigers at Mattioli Woods Welford Road in October 2024.

But he navigated that challenge successfully, returning to action to become a PREM winner for the second time as Saints claimed glory during the season just gone.

And though Graham is now looking forward to what's to come with ambitious Newcastle, he will clearly never forget his time in Northampton.

Graham wrote: "All good things come to an end, and with that my time as a Saint is finished.

"It's hard to put in to words how lucky I feel, to have had the opportunities and experiences with this group of very special people. To everyone involved with this great club thank you for being a part of my journey. It's been a genuine privilege to come in to work every day and make friends for life. For someone that came to the game on a different path, it feels crazy to me to have shared a training field, changing room and match day with some of the best players on the planet.

"There's too many people to thank individually but those of you know who you are when I say I couldn't have got through the toughest year of my life without you.

"To the fans that have embraced me from the start, whilst there will always be a piece of me left at Welford Road... I hope that you know that you make Franklin's Gardens a truly special place to play rugby. I hope that you all felt that I left everything out there every time I was lucky enough to wear the shirt. When I first came to the club all I had hoped for was to make my Premiership debut, something that was a dream of mine as a young boy. To walk away as a double Premiership winner and to finish the way we did feels completely surreal!

"I've done a lot of growing up in the last four years on and off the pitch. A lot of my favourite memories in my personal life are attached to this club which only adds to how tough of a club this is to leave. However, I know I have made the right decision for my career and my family and so I can't wait for what's ahead and for the next chapter to start. But for now, thank you all for the memories, and I will see you all soon.

"Saint #2058 over and out."
