Northampton Saints v Gloucester: Full team news for Saturday's game

Saints will be without two England half-backs for Saturday’s home Gallagher PREM game against Gloucester (kick-off 5.30pm).

Archie McParland, whose new contract was announced on Thursday, and Fin Smith will both miss the clash with the team heading into this round of PREM games sitting top of the table.

McParland was nursing a knock ahead of the match at Leicester Tigers last weekend, but did manage to come off the bench at Mattioli Woods Welford Road, while Smith picked up a calf problem during the game and has since been sent for scans.

That opens the door for Anthony Belleau to start at fly-half this weekend, with Jonny Weimann selected as the scrum-half cover on the bench as Alex Mitchell again wears the No.9 shirt.

Tommy Freeman lines up at outside centre, with Ollie Sleightholme coming in on the wing and Rory Hutchinson among the replacements.

Callum Chick is back in the starting line-up this week as he is named at No.8, taking the place of Henry Pollock, who is among the replacements.

McParland and Smith are joined on the unavailable list by Ben Alexander, Trevor Davison, Malik Faissal, Luke Green, Tom Litchfield, Aidan Pugh, Edoardo Todaro and Lefty Zigiriadis.

As for Gloucester, they have received some injury boosts this week, with Wales hooker Dewi Lake and England centre Seb Atkinson back from injury.

The Cherry and Whites have opted to load their bench, with star flanker Jac Morgan on a replacements list that also includes the names of Lake and in-form back row forward Will Trenholm.
