The Uhlsport United Counties League club’s long-time previous shirt sponsors, Specsavers, decided that in these challenging times, they were unable to help the football club financially in the immediate future.

Doughboys co-chairman Mark Darnell said: “We have pleasure in confirming that a new significant three-year shirt and ground advertising board sponsorship package has been agreed with Brian Martin of BM Pallets Ltd.

“We thank our past shirt sponsor of many years, Specsavers, and hope that they will continue to support us in another capacity in due course. We would also like to recognise our supporting shirt sponsor Pro Logis, who have also renewed their package for the forthcoming season.

“We are looking forward to working with Brian and his company and thank him for formalising the arrangement in these uncertain times.”

BM Pallets’ managing director Brian Martin added: “We are pleased to announce our deal with Wellingborough Town.

“Once we found out the old sponsors had walked away it was another opportunity to get BM Pallets involved even more with non-League football and a chance to put our name on the map around Wellingborough and surrounding areas.

“BM Pallets was established in 1984 and are now one of the leading recycled pallet companies in Northamptonshire.

“I am friends with Wellingborough co-chairman Darren Wingrove, so when he asked if I was interested, I jumped at the chance."
