Waitrose shoppers at three Northamptonshire stores help raise £4,500 for Animals In Need
Shoppers have helped raise £4,500 for a Northamptonshire animal charity.
Anyone who put a green token in the collection point for Animals In Need at three county Waitrose stores has played their part in securing a cash boost for the charity.
Annie Marriott from Animals In Need, which is based at Pine Tree Farm in Little Irchester, said: “A huge thank you to everyone who dropped a token into the Animals in Need box at Waitrose Rushden, Kingsthorpe and Wootton.
"We were delighted to be chosen as a green token charity at all three stores, but to come first in every single one is just incredible.

"Each store has awarded us £1,500, giving us a fantastic £4,500 in total.
"For a charity like ours, this really does make a difference. Caring for so many animals comes with ongoing costs and every bit of support helps us continue the work we do for animals who need us.
"To everyone who took the time to vote for us, thank you.
"Whether you know us through the sanctuary, have adopted an animal from us, follow our work online or simply popped your token in our box while doing your shopping, you’ve helped make this happen.
"And a big thank you to the teams at all three Waitrose stores for giving us this opportunity. We’re incredibly grateful to have had your support.
"Three stores, three first places and £4,500 for the animals – what a result!”
Animals In Need has been rescuing and rehoming animals across Northamptonshire and beyond for more than 35 years.
