Taxi company sponsors second life-saving bleed kit for Wellingborough’s Tresham College
A taxi firm that serves several Northamptonshire towns had joined a campaign to provide a life-saving bleed kit for a college campus.
The latest emergency equipment has been sponsored by cab company Take Me, to provide a kit for Wellingborough’s Tresham College.
It is the second bleed kit provided by Take Me in partnership with Off The Streets NN, a county anti-knife crime organisation dedicated to placing life-saving equipment and amnesty bins across Northants.
Jodie Wright, general manager at Take Me said: “As a business that operates across Wellingborough, Rushden, Kettering and Northampton every day, we feel a responsibility to support the safety of our community.

"Sponsoring a second bleed kit with Off the Streets NN was an easy decision. If it is ever needed, we hope it helps save a life.”
This latest donation follows the company’s sponsorship of a bleed kit at Northampton College last month, following an incident at the college.
Bleed control kits are designed to provide critical equipment, including trauma dressings and tourniquets, that can control severe bleeding in the vital minutes before emergency services arrive.
Off The Streets NN works closely with schools, colleges and community groups to increase awareness around knife crime and emergency preparedness.
Having a bleed kit at Tresham College ensures that students, staff and the general public have immediate access to essential equipment in the event of a critical bleed incident.
All bleed kits are registered with EMAS and if ever needed, can be accessed by calling 999. Emergency services call handlers are trained to guide the caller step by step if they are not trained to use the kit themselves.
Jane Capps, from Off the Streets NN, said: “We are always grateful for all support from local community and for Take Me's continued support. Having bleed kits in prominent places such as Tresham College ensures coverage to a wide area. Id like to also thank Tresham college in Wellingborough for accepting this bleed kit."
