Northamptonshire's Greatwell Homes shines a light on apprentices for National Apprenticeship Week
Greatwell Homes is proud to support and celebrate National Apprenticeship Week 2026.
The Northants-based housing association has recently employed two apprentices into their team.
Bradley Martin and Jonny Harris both joined Greatwell Homes in September 2025 as part of their apprenticeships, as well as taking time each week to complete their studies at Northampton College.
Bradley will undergo two years as a property maintenance apprentice where he will become fully qualified in property maintenance.

Bradley said: “I chose to do an apprenticeship because it’s stable and you get a lot of experience, as well as being paid.
"I really love the company I work for because everyone here are so supportive and kind. I feel like every day is so different so I’m always learning something new.”
Jonny, an apprentice electrician, will undergo a four-year apprenticeship where he will become a fully qualified electrician on his completion.
He has recently passed his first two exams at Northampton College with a merit.
He said: “I really enjoy the work element of my apprenticeship, particularly the people in the team. I get on with everyone and they are all helpful and encouraging and I never feel like I can’t ask a question.
“The theory side at college helps with my understanding, although it did feel a bit strange at first being back in education after a few years away.”
In June 2025, Greatwell Homes celebrated their first apprentice Jae Anderson completing her business administration apprenticeship.
Jae has since gone on to secure a full-time position at the housing association.
Julie Robinson, executive director at Greatwell Homes, said: “We see lots of benefits of taking on apprenticeships across the business.
"It helps the apprentices themselves to develop and grow, as well as giving them that step on the ladder to a career and experience in a real working environment.
"But there’s also benefits within our existing employees who are mentors to these apprentices. It really is a two-way thing, where it helps existing staff, as well as building apprenticeships within the business.”
There may be upcoming opportunities for more apprenticeships throughout the year.
