Harrods introduces Wellingborough firm Aqua Natural's strip sugar to its beauty treatment portfolio
A Wellingborough-based brand is delighted that Harrods has introduced its strip sugar into its beauty treatment offering.
Aqua Natural’s strip sugar is formulated from a pure sugar syrup blend, delivering a gentle yet effective hair removal treatment.
The firm, based on Wellingborough’s Leyland Trading Estate, says clients benefit from a more comfortable experience with reduced skin trauma, leaving the skin soft, clean and residue-free.
For therapists, the formulation eliminates the need for chemical-based pre and post-treatment solutions, supporting both professional well-being and cleaner treatment protocols.

This milestone reflects a broader shift across the beauty industry, where sustainability is no longer a niche but an expectation.
As consumer demand evolves, salons and spas are increasingly embracing holistic approaches that combine wellness, efficacy and environmental responsibility.
Aqua Natural’s full product range is certified by the Vegan Society and accredited under the Leaping Bunny Programme, reinforcing its commitment to ethical standards.
Joan Scott, CEO at The Hair and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), said: "Sustainability is no longer optional, it is essential and expected by clients and helps to drive long-term business success.
"We are delighted to work with Rosie and endorse the Aqua Natural training.’’
Founded in 1988 by female entrepreneur Rosie Khandwala, Aqua Natural pioneered the introduction of sugar-based hair removal in the UK at a time when the concept was largely unknown.
Its early growth coincided with the rise of The Body Shop under Anita Roddick, a defining moment in ethical beauty retail.
This led to a 17-year partnership bringing sugaring into the mainstream retail sector until the brand’s acquisition by L’Oréal.
Today, Aqua Natural continues that legacy through its consumer-facing brand, Sugar Coated Hair Removal, offering a modern, natural alternative aligned with current clean beauty expectations.
Backed by decades of manufacturing expertise under stringent ethical and sustainability audits, the company remains committed to
maintaining these principles without compromise.
Collaborating with two of Britain’s most iconic beauty institutions, The Body Shop and Harrods represents not only a significant achievement, but also validation of Aqua Natural’s long-standing mission to deliver effective, sustainable solutions that meet the evolving standards of the global beauty industry.
