Corby childminder to host sponsored walk for Children in Need at Kettering’s Wicksteed Park
A Corby childminder is hosting a sponsored walk at Kettering’s Wicksteed Park to raise money for Children in Need.
The sponsored walk is taking place on Friday, November 15 – the day of BBC Children in Need - at 10.30am.
Lynn Haycoks of Childminding in Great Oakley is the organiser of the walk and would like to encourage as many others to join her.
She said: “We are hoping that childminders with their small friends, mummies and daddies and grandparents with their little ones, would join us in raising money for Children in Need by taking part in a sponsored walk around Wicksteed Park’s beautiful lake.
“As the theme suggests, we are looking to see as many little ones with their prams, buggies, toy buggies, ride-ons, scooters, as possible and do a circuit or two of the lake to raise funds for Children in Need.”
Wicksteed Park is supporting the event by offering free parking to anyone who signs up to their fundraising team and takes part (on Friday, November 15 only) in raising money for this great cause.
A group Just Giving page has been set up to join them and sponsorship forms are also available to download to help their ‘smaller friends’ raise money from friends and family. You can also visit the page to donate.
Lynn added: “Of course, if you choose to do something similar on a different day, please join our team, but the offer of free parking from Wicksteed Park is only valid on the Friday.”
