A man who was caught with 107 cannabis plants in the home he was renting in Kettering has been sentenced to four months in prison.

Ardi Rexhmati, 24, appeared at Northampton Crown Court on Friday (June 18) to plead guilty to production of the class B drug. He was caught by police at the house on March 15 this year.

He was sentenced to four months in prison but was released as he has already served the sentence while on remand.

The court heard that the Home Office would now consider Rexhmati for deportation after the imposition of a prison term.

Judge Rupert Mayo also ordered that £500 in cash found in the house should be paid to Wellingborough charity Service Six.
