Corby leisure and retail park on market for £3.25m

Rockingham leisure park has gone up for sale for £3.25 million.

The popular out-of-town shopping area in Princewood Road houses the Samuel Lloyd Wetherspoons as well as a Greggs, Domino’s, Subway, Gravity trampoline park, a Hampton by Hilton hotel and a gym and nursery.

With a build cost of £10m, it was opened in 2007 by Market Harborough-owned Off Developments. It was home to the town’s first Wetherspoons and the country’s first Hampton by Hilton Hotel.

It has now gone on the market as a going concern, priced at £3.25m.

Built on former quarried land, the derelict car showroom site was the subject of an application for a bowling alley and cinema back in the early 90s, but that scheme never took off.

In 2007, the first shops to open were the food outlets and the pub, and at one time a popular night-time attraction was Rockafellas nightclub, owned by local entrepreneur Rocky Duggal.

The 4.5 acre centre brings in an annual rental income of £251,000, with the hotel and Samuel Lloyds operators subject to long leaseholds.

It is on the market with Suttons, who say there is the potential for four more ‘pods’ in the car park.
