A unique youth theatre opportunity celebrating creativity, acceptance and the legacy of a young writer and performer .

Pegasus Performing Arts CIC is inviting young people aged 12 and over from Corby to become part of The Orchid Project, an original youth theatre production being developed in memory of Ella Walden.

The audition workshop will take place on Friday 13th November 2026, from 5pm–7pm at Pegasus Drama Studio, Rockingham Road, Corby.

No preparation is required. Auditions will be workshop-based, giving young people the opportunity to explore movement, creativity and working as part of an ensemble.

A different kind of youth theatre

The Orchid Project will be a devised, physical theatre production, inspired by Ella’s original concept and her love of dance.

This will be a genuine co-creation process. The young people selected will not simply learn lines and perform a finished script. They will actively contribute ideas, develop scenes, experiment with movement and help shape the story, working collaboratively with the creative team to complete Ella’s original vision.

Although this is a legacy project in Ella’s memory, you do not need to have known Ella to audition or become part of the company.

The production will tell a positive story about acceptance. It will not discuss the accident or focus on Ella’s death. Instead, the intention is to complete the positive work she started, celebrate her creativity and bring her original idea to life.

With support from the North Northamptonshire Council Youth Development Fund, Pegasus is able to complete the production and offer 15 places to young people in Corby.

A message from Kerrie Davis, Pegasus Principal

“Ella made a real impression on us at Pegasus, and I was amazed by the maturity and creativity behind her original idea at just 13. When Stacey approached me about completing it in her honour, there was only ever going to be one answer. This is about celebrating Ella’s creativity and everything positive she had to offer, rather than revisiting the tragedy of her loss. She has given us the starting point and together we will develop the story to completion.”

Rehearsals will officially begin on Friday evenings from January 2027, with the selected young people working together to devise and develop the final production.
