However, tighter lockdown restrictions caused this to be postponed until next year.

On Saturday, Lockett packed a small mobile set up into his car and drove to some of the homes of fans who have entered the competition to perform a socially distanced set outside.

Lockett said: “They were amazing, it was nice just to play live music to actual people again.

“It’s been about a year since I’ve done that. It was nice to just make people happy.

“At a time like this, which is quite depressing, anything which is a bit different and can make people smile is a good thing.”

In a bid to ensure fans would be home, a selection were messaged about Lockett potentially knocking on their door between a certain time – however there was no guarantee which houses would be chosen.

Talking about the reaction he received, Lockett added: “Everyone was ecstatic, it was a genuine reaction which was really nice. I’ve really missed that.

“This definitely isn’t the last time I’m going to do this.”

Next year, Lockett aims to play more than 40 shows at fans’ houses as part of his Living Room & Gardens Tour which will also be supporting his forthcoming EP, Reflections, which is due out in the first part of the year.
