There was good news for Saints when the latest Covid-19 test results in the Gallagher Premiership were announced on Wednesday.

We understand no one at Franklin’s Gardens has tested positive and the one player who did test positive last week has now been given the all clear.

A total of 856 players and club staff across the league - 52 more than last week - were tested this week as part of the PCR COVID-19 screening programme.

Of those, nine people tested positive, seven of which were players and two of which were non-playing staff.

But thankfully for Saints, all of their players and staff were given the all clear.

Premiership action is due to resume next month, with Saints’ first fixture coming against Wasps at the Gardens on Sunday, August 16.
