We have to keep the club going, says Corby chairman Noble
The Steelmen, who were all-but assured of a play-off place in the BetVictor Southern League Division One Central, saw their season ended last week with the Football Association announcing the cancellation of the campaign for all leagues from Step 3 and below with records being expunged due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The main priority for non-League clubs, aside from the obvious of keeping everyone healthy, is to minimise the financial impact and to ensure they are ready for whenever the new season gets under way.

Asked if everything was okay from a financial point of view at the club, Noble said: “No, it’s not. We are no different to any other club, the finances are really tight like they are everywhere.
“When we come to the other end of this, it’s important the gates open and all those kids, men and women have somewhere to go.
“The most important thing for us for the time being is to make sure the club keeps going.

“We do have benefactors but what we really create is what comes from our work in the community and that community is going to need every penny they have got because people’s livelihoods and jobs take precedence.
“If we can keep the gates open and provide football from where we are at the moment then I think that will be a plus.
“What will get Corby Town back and functioning and pushing for promotion again will be our volunteers, our sponsors and our supporters. It’s as simple as that.”
