Wright’s previous spell at Steel Park saw him join the Steelmen as joint-manager alongside Andrew Wilson in September 2013 before he took sole charge for at the back end of the 2013-14 season before leading Corby to a memorable Southern League Premier Division title success in his first full campaign at the helm.

However, their stay in the National League North lasted just one season as Corby were relegated and Wright left the club 12 games into the following campaign.

Since then, he has had spells at the likes of Nuneaton Borough, Darlington and Stratford Town.

But now he is back at Steel Park on a two-year deal with an option for a third and has been given a clear remit to try to deliver promotion back into Step 3.

Glass said: “The club is in a much better position than it was when Tommy was here before.

“There is a feeling of unfinished business and the club is looking to reach the level we did when Tommy was here before.

“I think it was the case that neither he nor the club were ready when we reached that level before.

“He has got the pedigree to get us back there and get us back there quickly.

“We are excited to welcome him back and for what the future holds.”

The Steelmen look set to push hard for promotion in the next campaign with a ‘Promotion Push Fund’ being set up by the fans while Glass has committed to matching all donations for the first 10 months of the project.

And he believes the supporters will soon see the benefits of their efforts.

“The Promotion Push Fund has been a real success and the fans will start to see the rewards of that over the next few weeks,” he added

“I have been overwhelmed by the response and we are looking to build a squad that can get us promoted.”
