But the Poppies made it three matches without defeat as they hit the hosts with two second-half goals at Aggborough.

After a goalless opening period, Paul Cox's team opened the scoring on 57 minutes when recent signing Kyle Perry's cross was finished off at the far post by captain Luke Graham.

And the Poppies doubled their advantage with 20 minutes to go with Perry again the provider for Connor Kennedy who raced into the area and hammered home his fifth goal of the season.

Kettering had to defend stoutly for the remainder of the game but saw things out to seal all three points.

The Poppies are due to be back on home soil on Saturday when they host Blyth Spartans in a game that should see fans returning to Latimer Park.
