Kettering Town have been handed an FA Cup first round derby day trip to Northampton Town.

The match is a repeat of the first round Cup tie between the sides that was staged at Rockingham Road, in November, 1989, with Dean Thomas scoring the only goal of the game for the Cobblers.

Jon Brady’s side are currently fifth bottom in Sky Bet League One.

The first round draw was staged at Bradford City's Valley Parade stadium, and made live on BBC2.

Kelly Somers presented the show, with the draw being made by former Watford, Portsmouth and Sheffield United forward Danny Webber and former Everton, Rangers and Scotland midfielder Stuart McCall, who is also a former Bradford City player and manager.

A brief highlight package ahead of the draw featured Isiah Noel-Williams' dramatic late winner at Farsley on Saturday.

Poppies director football Fabian Forde was a guest on the show, and after the club was paired with the Cobblers, he said: “It’s a great one for the fans, I know a lot of them mentioned it on the way up here and they will be buzzing about it.”

Ties are due to be played between Friday, November 1 and Monday, November 4.
