The 2020 series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here will feature a farm in North Wales as an additional filming site, it has been revealed.

Manorafon Farm Park, home to a number of different farm animals in Abergele, has been confirmed as the second filming location for the popular reality TV series.

The attraction consists of a variety of fields and paddocks and is found a short distance from the main filming site, Gwrych Castle.

What will the farm be used for in the show?

Despite the recent confirmation, it is not yet known what the true purpose behind filming on the farm is, nor the activities or challenges that will occur there.

The news comes as a welcome and much needed source of income for the farm owners who suffered losses due to the pandemic.

A spokesperson for Manorafon Farm Park said in a statement, "As many of you will be aware, the losses we sustained at the beginning of our season because of the coronavirus pandemic have hit us hard.

"As we reach the end of our main season, we have had to consider making some very difficult decisions.

"We were recently approached with the opportunity to provide ITV with exclusive use of our site until the end of 2020 as they film I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here on the neighbouring Gwrych Castle Estate.

"This unique opportunity provides us with the ability to invest in the farm and continue with our exciting plans for 2021 and beyond. As such, we will be closed for the remainder of the 2020 season."

Where is the show usually filmed?

The hit series usually takes place in an unoccupied banana farm in New South Wales, Australia. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the 20th series of the show will take place closer to home, with ITV filming in the UK for the first time since the show first aired in 2002.

Speaking about the change in location, director of entertainment at ITV Studios Richard Cowles said, "The Australian jungle is such an integral part of the show it was a big challenge to find a UK location where we could continue to deliver what viewers love about I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here.

“But Gwrych will definitely do that; the Castle sits in an amazing and atmospheric setting on a hillside overlooking the Irish Sea.”

He explained that the change in location also meant a change in the winning title for one lucky contestant.

"It means for the first time in the show's history, one celebrity will be crowned King or Queen of the Castle, rather than the Jungle.”
