Overnight closures for sections of the A45 and A6 as part of Chowns Mill improvement works

Sections of the A45 and the A6 will be closed as part of the ongoing improvement works at the Chowns Mill roundabout.

As part of the £24 million project to improve the busy A45/A6 junction, several overnight closures are taking place this week.

The A45 westbound approach from Stanwick to Chowns Mill will be closed from 8pm tonight (Thursday) until midnight.

The northbound carriageway of the A6 between Kimbolton Road roundabout at Rushden to Nene Park at Irthlingborough will be closed from 8pm tonight (Thursday) until 6am tomorrow (Friday).

While these closures are in place, the A6 southbound and A45 east from Stanwick to Chowns Mill will remain open.

The A45 eastbound approach from Rushden Lakes to Chowns Mill will also be closed from midnight tonight (Thursday) until 6am tomorrow (Friday).

A further overnight closure is taking place with the A45 westbound approach from Stanwick to Chowns Mill being closed from 8pm tomorrow (Friday) until 6am on Saturday.

Highways England, which is carrying out the work, says fully signed diversion routes will be in operation and access will be maintained for emergency vehicles.

However, the planned closures may be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

Improvements to the Chowns Mill roundabout started in February and are due to take 22 months to complete.
