Swimmers make a splash with fundraiser for Rushden charity

A group of swimmers have raised more than £400 to go towards Serve's work in the community.

Swim for Serve took place just before the country went into lockdown in March.

The fundraising has been added up and Serve has announced that £403 was raised in total.

A spokesman for the charity based in Church Street, Rushden, said: "Serve are pleased to announce that Swim for Serve March 2020 (pre-pandemic) raised £403 which is a fantastic amount of money.

"Well done to the ladies who took part and a huge thank you to Freedom Leisure and Splash Pool Rushden.

"Congratulations to Pat, Julia, Joanne, Shelagh and Jenny."

The fundraiser was completed at Rushden's Splash Pool by some of the charity's volunteers and the spokesman added: "All money raised is going to support Serve's ongoing work in the community."

Serve supports older people so they can live in their own homes independently.

The charity helps elderly people across East Northants and fundraising is vital to ensure they can continue providing this lifeline.
