A wellbeing centre in Kettering is holding a virtual festive event to keep people in good 'elf and raise cash for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Ironstone Wellbeing Centre, in Ironstone Place, is holding its annual Elf Day on Saturday, December 12, with this year’s event being held online because of the Covid pandemic.

For a small donation, participants are encouraged to dress as cheeky Christmas elves for a series of virtual classes, including flow, power and Yin yoga, and a Fitsteps class.

All proceeds go to charity.

Studio manager Niamh Bailey said: “Unfortunately due to Covid our plans to run our Elf Day event for 2020 in person was cancelled.

“But we didn’t want to let the pandemic spoil all our plans.

"We all need a little bit of fun right now and some help to get in the festive spirit so we thought given the situation we would host a virtual elf day event.

“The ideal way to bring a community together and to raise funds for such a worthy cause whilst having fun and spreading some Christmas cheer. Simply dress up as an elf (other festive attire allowed!) and get involved.”

A raffle will also be held throughout the event

Niamh added: “We supported the Alzheimer’s Society last year as well as it is a cause which affects so many and is close to our hearts for personal reasons, for both myself and a number of instructors.”

You don’t have to be a member to join in the fun and anyone can book a place through www.ironstone.club.

You will then be emailed a link to join the event 30 minutes before the start. Those taking part are asked to use the Google Chrome browser when booking.
