Rushden charity ‘incredibly grateful’ to receive cheque from Pride organisers
Leaders at Rushden charity Serve have been handed a cheque for £1,000 after a successful Pride event in the town last month.
Rushden Pride was a weekend-log celebration which took place at The Welcome Inn last month, with Serve one of the event’s chosen charities.
The Pride weekend raised a total of £1,493.77.
Of this, £173.77 was used by the organisers to cover the cost of the Pride activities, £300 was handed to LGBTQ+ charity Stonewall, and £1,000 given to Serve, a Rushden charity which helps to support older people and adults with disabilities, allowing them to remain independent through home care and support for family carers.

A Serve spokesman said: “A huge thank you everyone who helped make this year’s event such a success. We were proud to be one of your charity partners this year and are incredibly grateful for your support.
“This fantastic donation will make a real difference to the people we support across our local community and we can't thank you enough for your generosity.
“We’re also thrilled to be continuing our partnership as one of Rushden Pride’s charity partners for 2027, and we’e already looking forward to working together again next year.”
The Welcome Inn will host its Pride weekend again in 2027, planned to take place on June 18, 19, and 20 in support of Serve and Olney-based charity, Ailsa’s Aim.
Sapphire Matthewman, organiser of Rushden Pride, said: “After an incredible 2026 we can’t wait to bring our community together once again for a weekend filled with celebration, entertainment, inclusivity, fundraising, and plenty of Pride spirit.
“This is only the beginning. We’ve got some exciting announcements coming over the next few months, and we can’t wait to share what’s in store.”
