Rope swing damaged in Higham Ferrers arson attack repaired and returned to play area
A rope swing damaged in an arson attack last year has been repaired and returned so children can play on it once more.
Higham Ferrers Town Council has confirmed that the rope swing and safety flooring at the play area in Saffron Road have been fully repaired and replaced where required after being damaged a year ago in February 2025.
A spokesman for the town council said: “Due to the extent of the damage, the council needed to submit an insurance claim, which meant the replacement process took longer than usual.

"We are incredibly fortunate to have such a supportive and caring community in our town, and we hope there will be no further incidents of this nature.
"We kindly ask everyone to treat our shared equipment with respect so it can be enjoyed by all.
"If you witness any anti-social behaviour, please report it to the police so it can be addressed appropriately.”
