Northamptonshire pub 'incredibly proud' to be in The Good Food Guide’s 100 Best Pubs 2026
A Northamptonshire village pub is celebrating after being included in The Good Food Guide’s 100 Best Pubs 2026.
Madison Keys and Zak Perrin of The Falcon Inn in Fotheringhay said it was an ‘absolute pleasure’ to attend the awards ceremony at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London alongside some of the very best pubs in the country.
To have their ‘little village pub in Fotheringhay recognised on a national stage’ is something they are incredibly proud of.
Madison and Zak told the Northants Telegraph: “We are so proud of our achievement.

"Myself and Zak became the very proud owners of The Falcon in December 2019.
"We’d poured everything we had into our first business venture, making our dream of owning a pub a reality.
"After three glorious months of thinking all our hard work had finally paid off, March 2020 arrived and the government promptly shut us down as a part of Covid restrictions.
"What followed can only be described as the sort of series of unfortunate events that made us wonder whether someone was actually just having us on.

"But amongst all the chaos, we’ve somehow managed to build something we’re incredibly proud of.
"We are so proud that our little pub in the middle of the quaint village of Fotheringhay has made it onto The Good Food Guide's 100 best pubs 2026.
"This accolade sits proudly alongside our two AA Rosettes for culinary excellence, which we’ve worked tirelessly to maintain for several years."
While running a pub is hard work, they say recognition like this really helps drive you on, adding: "Plenty of challenges still face us, as they do all pubs and hospitality venues in the UK, but awards like this certainly help to make the hard work worthwhile.
"We also thank the support from our family as always for lending a helping hand behind the bar, with a paint brush or garden trowel when needed or simply just a listening ear.”
While it will take some time for this news to sink in, Madison and Zak are so proud of what they have achieved alongside their team as well as all the customers who have walked through their doors.
And they added: “The Good Food Guide described us as ‘a godsend for the whole village and beyond’ and we really couldn’t ask for a more wonderful compliment.
"Here’s to great food, good company and the future of the Great British pub!”
