Nine-hour clean up goes on after crashed lorry spills hand sanitiser across A509 near Wellingborough
A nine-hour clean-up is under way following a lorry crash which spilled tons of HAND SANITISER over the main road connecting Kettering and Wellingborough.
Traffic officers are warning they expect the A509 to be shut until 6pm on Wednesday following the incident at just after 9am this morning.

Hide AdA DAF truck carrying a trailer-load of what is believed to be cleaning and sanitising products wound up in a ditch alongside the road between Isham and Little Harrowden.
And it will take specialists to come in and make the road safe ahead of an expected big freeze which could see temperatures plummet to MINUS 10°C during the small hours
A Northamptonshire Police spokeswoman said: “Following a collision, the A509 between Isham and Wellingborough will be closed for the next couple of hours to allow a specialist cleaning company to safely remove a substance that has spilled from inside a lorry’s load.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the area and find an alternative route.”

Hide AdPolice say a Ford Transit van and a silver Vauxhall Corsa were also involved, although there are no reports of any injuries.
