More than just a fun day as Rothwell residents invited to discover what’s on their doorstep
Families across Rothwell are being invited to enjoy a free morning of fun while discovering the wide range of support, activities and opportunities available right on their doorstep.
Kettering Community Unit (KCU) will be hosting How’s Your Summer Going? at Holy Trinity Church, Rothwell, on Tuesday, August 25, from 10am to 1pm.
The free event brings together more than 20 local organisations, charities and community groups.
While young people can enjoy a bouncy castle, face painting, crafts, Lego, games, hot dogs and refreshments, adults will have the chance to meet the people behind many of the services that support local families throughout the year.

Sylvia McLevy, CEO of Kettering Community Unit, said: “This isn’t a recruitment event or a service fair, it’s a chance for families to have fun together while getting to know the organisations that make Rothwell such a supportive community.
“Whether you’re looking for activities for your children, advice on work or learning, support with health and wellbeing, volunteering opportunities or simply want to meet people in your community, there’s something here for everyone.”
By bringing everyone together in one welcoming place, KCU hopes people will make valuable connections. The event has been designed around a simple idea – people often don’t know what’s available until they need help.
Visitors will be able to chat informally with organisations including Northants ACRE, Rothwell Town Council’s Health and Wellbeing Team, Co-op, North Northamptonshire Council's Social Inclusion, Adult Learning and Leisure teams, Hope UK, Community Law Service, ENFOLD, Thriving in Life, Kettering Mind and the team at Holy Trinity Church.
The event will also feature a calm and friendly space, ensuring that families who prefer a quieter environment can enjoy the day too.
As the school holidays begin to draw to a close, KCU hopes the event will give families the chance to enjoy one last free day out together while discovering activities, services and opportunities that can support them throughout the year.
The event is completely free, with no booking required.
