A Kettering church live-streamed its service this morning in an effort to reach people while they follow the government's social distancing guidelines.

St Peter and St Paul with St Michael and All Angels Church live-streamed their Sunday service.

The Church of England has suspended all public worship until further notice.

The Archbishops of Canterbury and York made the decision on Tuesday, March 17 following government advice on non-essential contact.

Many churches are turning to online streaming in an effort to extend services to people at home and Reverend David Walsh led today's live-streamed service in Kettering.

Churches are remaining open where possible but there are also restrictions on funerals, baptisms and weddings.

Those over the age of 70 and those with an underlying health condition are strongly advised against attending any of these events.

Anyone in attendance is also asked to observe social distancing guidelines, such as no contact and remaining 2m apart.

Weddings have been restricted to the legal minimum of the priest, bride, groom, and two witnesses.

Those unable to attend the events will be able to join in via video calling
