Despite the country being told to stay at home three times in the last 10 months due to national lockdowns, parents across the north of Northamptonshire were not deterred from giving their children the best birthday parties ever.
Heading to a trampoline park, a swimming pool or a play area seem like distant memories now - and they are plans which are not destined to be put back on the cards just yet either.
With that in mind, here is a photographic list of 11 parties you might like to replicate for your little ones to make their special day one to remember while our options for fun elsewhere are limited.

5. Buy local
Sarah Grieve ordered a 'messy pack' from Mess Around Northamptonshire for her daughter's fifth birthday, which kept her two girls "very busy."

6. A tea party with family
Little Aaliyah Duncan couldn't have her planned birthday with her friends at a trampoline park so her mum planned a fun Mad Hatter's Tea party and they both helped each other to make the props.

7. Virtual catch ups
Gail Brearly's daughter celebrated her eigth birthday with a pink balloon arch. The gymnastics-lover also went out for a run to raise awareness for RED January and did two gymnastics Zoom calls with her pals.

8. A socially distant visit from a hero
Jessica celebrated her third birthday during lockdown and her family arranged a surprise visit from Corby Town mascot, Robbie the Raven.
