Rushden residents will have the opportunity to socialise and access support as the temperature drops thanks to the relaunch of a warm room.

Rushden Town Council has relaunched the ‘Friends Of Rushden Hall’ group that provides a comfortable space for the people in the town to get together this autumn and winter.

Cllr Barbara Jenney said: “Friends of Rushden Hall evolved from the warm rooms scheme set up by Rushden Town Council last winter to support local residents through the energy crisis.

"The Friday afternoon sessions proved so popular that the scheme extended through the summer and will now continue into the coming winter months.

“A warm welcome awaits all those who wish to come along. It is an opportunity to enjoy the companionship of others, to make new friends and learn new skills.

"Sessions so far have included games, an art workshop, crafts and quizzes. You can join in the activities or simply enjoy a friendly chat over a cup of tea or coffee.”

Every Friday, from 2pm until 4pm, the group meets in Rushden Hall in Hall Park, and will continue to do so until further notice.

The group is open to everyone and free of charge, there is no need for prior booking.
